Ajax hit Arrows for 4

Ajax Cape Town beat Golden Arrows in their last home game of the season at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Urban Warriors turned on the magic from the first whistle to entertain their fans scoring four goals to Arrows one, to secure the much needed three points.
The local fans hardly had a change to settle into their seats at the start of the game when Khama Billiat scored with a low shot past the keeper to give Ajax a 1-0 lead.
Minutes later a cross-cum shot at goal by Lebo Manyama was fumbled into the net by the Arrows keeper, Nkosingiphile Gumede who was subsequently substituted by Stephan Loboue (Ajax 2 – Arrows 0).
Just as the teams settled into the rhythm of the game, Matthew Booth gave Ajax a 3-0 lead when he headed home from a Maluleka free-kick.
Arrows pulled a goal back in the 41st minute when Nkosi found space on the left side to score from a tight angle.
The second half started in a distressing manner for Ajax when Thulani Hlatshwayo was stretchered-off in a neck-brace after colliding with an Arrows player. Nazeer Allie replaced Hlatshwayo in the right-back position.
Ajax continued to search for goals and Manyama’s free-kick beat the wall but hit the cross bar. Akpabio and Booth picked yellow cards in quick succession for fouls on Khuboni and Gabuza respectively.
Vilakazi replaced Scott in the 59th minute as Ajax sought to consolidate their lead.
Arrows countered by replacing Zwane with Mashego and the move spurred Arrows onto the offensive winning two free-kicks within 3 minutes of each other; the first flew over the bar while the second was cleared by the Ajax defence.
The Urban Warriors countered via Maluleka but the Ajax midfielder’s cross was headed wide and shots at goal by Losper and Manyama peppered the Arrows goal.
Brett Evans capped a fine performance, making late minute clearance-header at the far post.
Both keepers made late saves, Loboue punched-out Manyama’s drive from distance, and then he managed to make a save at the 2nd attempt from Lebo’s shot at goal, while Westerveld foiled Mashego’s effort from inside the box.
Maluleka sealed the result in Ajax’s favour when he finished a flowing passing move, placing his shot beyond the Arrows keeper to give Ajax a 4-1 win.
Final score: Ajax Cape Town 4 - Golden Arrows 1
Scores: Ajax - Khama Billiat, Lebo Manyama, Matthew Booth and George Maluleka.
Arrows - Siyabonga Nkosi.
